GOSPEL CULTURE

What is Gospel Culture in our Youth Ministry?

Gospel Doctrine + Gospel Culture = Power

Let’s let Ray Ortland start us off:

“Gospel doctrine creates a gospel culture. The doctrine of grace creates a culture of grace. When the doctrine is clear and the culture is beautiful, that church will be powerful.”

We want to be Students and Leaders who “portray the beauty of Christ” seen clearly in His Good News (the Gospel). Taking our faith (doctrine!) seriously, we aim to be known by our hospitality —> being a welcoming and warm people changed by the power of Jesus, seeking to see others changed by the power of Jesus. We truly believe “A church can offer living and palpable proof that the gospel makes a real difference for real people living in the real world.”

We:

  1. Preach the Bible, the foundation of Gospel Doctrine.

  2. Apply the gracious work of Jesus to our hearts and lives, living out the change he brought.

  3. Place a high emphasis on discipleship, growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus with one another.

Our youth ministry assistants, Jake LaCroix and Megan Prion, are a pivotal part of cultivating Gospel Culture here at Logos Student Ministry. They work diligently to meet up with each student, working towards our goal of every believing student in Logos Student ministry receiving the grace of discipleship here at CCF.

“….the one thing the gospel never does is nothing.”.

About Our Youth Group Name

"Logos” (λόγος) is the Greek word for ‘Word’ which appears mainly in the Gospel of John and throughout the New Testament. In John 1:1 we see that Jesus is God, existing with the Father and Spirit from the beginning, and ‘Word’ who became flesh and dwelt with us (John 1:14). We are to believe Jesus is the Son of God to obtain eternal life (John 1:31-36).
